Alex Hughes
President & Founder
Working directly with two Speakers of the House, two police commissioners, two mayors, members of Congress and hundreds of legislators and local officials, Alex has earned a reputation as a no-nonsense strategist and effective communicator. Alex has been at the center of every major political fight in Maryland for the last fifteen years.
As a political strategist, policy advisor, administrator and communicator, Alex brings unrivaled professional expertise and experience along with a dynamic personal background to provide the right blend of strategy and operational efforts to any local, state, national, private or public sector fight.
Alex received her undergraduate degree in Politics from Princeton University and a Juris Doctor from University of Baltimore School of Law, as well as a certificate from Santa Clara University for corporate board readiness.
Dori Henry
Senior Vice President
Throughout a career that has spanned every level of government, Dori has worked on a wide range of hot button issues. Having served as an Assistant Secretary of Labor in the Obama Administration, chief of staff to the Baltimore County Executive and Director of Communications at the Maryland Department of Health, Dori has had a seat at many executive-level decision-making tables.
A former journalist, Dori knows how to ask the right questions and tell a compelling story. Combined with years of communications and policy experience in local, state and federal government, including managing high-level crisis communications, she uses these skills to help clients achieve their strategic goals.
Dori earned a Bachelor of Science from James Madison University and a Master's degree in journalism from Boston University.
Caroline Thorne
Associate
Caroline Thorne is an Associate with Blended Public Affairs. Caroline joins Blended Public Affairs after working in the University of Maryland Office of Government Relations, with Congressman Steny H. Hoyer and as a White House Intern in the Biden Administration. Caroline brings experience working in the Maryland State legislature and coalition building young voters and grassroots voices to move projects forward. Caroline has her undergraduate degree in Government/Politics from the University of Maryland.
