Joe joins Blended with deep campaign and advocacy expertise as well as coalition building experience. He spent over a decade in Maryland politics, running statewide political and advocacy campaigns and rebuilding the political infrastructure, campaign strategy, communications and data engagement for Governor Wes Moore’s Maryland Democratic Party. Prior to his time with the State Party, Joe managed the campaign to elect Brooke Lierman, the first woman independently elected to statewide state level office in Maryland, who then selected Joe as Director of Government Affairs for the Office of the Maryland Comptroller.
Joe received national recognition receiving the Peter Jennings Award for Civic Leadership for statewide coalition building and campaign advocacy for his work as Executive Director of Strong Schools Maryland. Having started his career as a teacher in the Baltimore City Public Schools system, Joe holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and a master’s degree in secondary education from Johns Hopkins University.
